Build journey

Foreman Way, Maidstone

Not every job is a quick refresh. This one we took right back to the bones and built out a brand-new room. Here's how it came together - start to finish.

Maidstone, VICRoom extension
Foreman Way new room extension - full timber frame with insulation batts and AC rough-in position marked
01Frame up

New frame, standing square. Fresh studs, insulation in, AC position set, and the room taking shape from the ground up.

Foreman Way extension exterior - new terracotta roof tiles being laid with Anticon wrap cladding and white gutters
02Roof on

Sealed up top. Tiles on, gutters fitted, cladding wrapped. The extension is weather-tight before the inside work begins.

Foreman Way room extension - timber door frame opening punched through into the existing house, bathroom visible beyond
03Connected

The new room meets the old house. The opening punched through, frame set, and the two spaces joined up.

Two tradespeople fitting the built-in wardrobe in the new Foreman Way room
04On the tools

The crew fitting the robe by hand. Shelving built in, sliding doors tracked, and the room finding its finished shape.

Finished Foreman Way room - dark charcoal carpet laid, sliding wardrobe closed, split system AC and natural light from window
05Done

Done. Dark carpet, built-in robe, split system and a window. A proper room where there was nothing before.

Our own place

We did do it to our own workplace first.

Ballarat Road is where we work. When it needed doing, we did what we always do: stripped it back, kept it tight, and left it functional. No client brief. No showcase budget. Same crew, same standards, and nowhere to hide if the finish was not right.
